We spent our final week continuing many of the tasks from the previous 2 weeks including Core recovery analysis and orientating cores where possible in order to identify and measure important structures linked to mineralisation in the area. The remainder of the week was spent surface mapping the middle Sturac area of Rudnik mountain. We ensured that we mapped and collected samples of each type of lithology present in the area. We managed to cover a large area in the short time spent mapping, which in addition to the previously created geological map of the area gave us a better understanding of our surroundings. The days spent mapping, together with previous weeks’ experiences ensured that we collected enough data and information for our dissertation projects. The final day was spent travelling to Belgrade and starting our journey back to the UK. I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Mineco and the project delivery team at Rudnik mine for the opportunity to gain experience and be part of the team in a working environment for the past 3 weeks. I believe our time at Rudnik will be a pivotal point in our progression, developing skills first-hand to pursue a career in exploration or a similar industry. We have gained valuable knowledge and developed key life skills through a challenging and enjoyable work experience.

Thanks Ioan and Dan
