International Mining Conference in Belgrade 2017

Dominic Roberts, Operations Director Mineco and Aca Ilic, General Manager of the Rudnik mine in Serbia attended the 7th International Mining Conference in Belgrade on Wednesday 4th October. The conference, titled “Mineral Resources in the Republic of Serbia: A Driving Force for Economic Development”, bought together a diverse audience of miners, exploration companies, financiers, environmental engineers and government ministers. Speaking alongside Rio Tinto and Nevsum, Dominic Roberts presented a brief “SWOT” analysis of the Serbian mining sector, making particular reference to work that the authorities have already undertaken to liberalise the mining law but highlighting the importance of finishing the task and specifically capturing the critical role of the competent engineer in resource estimation.
